When you want lifting but worry about the pain

If you start looking into lifting treatments in Busan, you quickly run into a list of device names: Ultherapy, Thermage, Onda, Alltite.

Among people who have already had Ultherapy or Thermage, some hesitate before booking again — not because of the result, but because of the pain. The sharp pricking during treatment, the strong heat, the feeling that travels close to the bone: those memories can make lifting itself feel like something to avoid.

Lately, those are the people searching for Alltite lifting. After coming across Alltite on social media, they want to know whether it is a lower-pain option, and whether it can be chosen instead of Ultherapy or Thermage.

The short answer: Alltite is less "the one device that replaces every lifting treatment" and more an option worth discussing if you want dermis-focused tightening with less pain and less downtime.

That said, every lifting plan has to change with your skin thickness, fat volume, the direction of sagging, the risk of hollow cheeks, and your treatment history. Below we go through why Ultherapy and Thermage can hurt, how Alltite works differently, and who might consider a consultation.

Why can Ultherapy feel painful?

Ultherapy is a lifting treatment that uses high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). The ultrasound energy passes through the surface of the skin and converges at a set depth, creating a thermal response there in order to encourage tissue contraction and collagen remodelling.

Think of holding a magnifying glass under sunlight: the heat concentrates at a single point. HIFU concentrates ultrasound energy at a specific depth inside the skin in much the same way. Ultherapy generally works across several depths — 1.5mm, 3.0mm and 4.5mm — to address both the dermis and the deeper supporting structure.

The 3.0mm and 4.5mm depths that come up so often in lifting conversations matter because they let us look at skin firmness and deeper sagging together. As heat gathers momentarily at those points, a contraction response and collagen regeneration process can be expected.

But that same "heat gathered at a point" is where the pain comes from. Because the energy concentrates instantaneously, you may feel a sharp or stinging sensation, and it can feel stronger near blood vessels and nerves, or close to muscle and bone.

So with Ultherapy-type treatments, satisfaction can depend on pain sensitivity quite apart from the result. With the same shot count, one person finds it manageable while another finds it heavy enough to think twice about the next session.

Why can Thermage feel hot and stinging?

Thermage uses radiofrequency (RF) energy. As the RF energy passes through skin tissue it generates heat, and that heat is used to encourage collagen contraction and regeneration in the dermis.

If Ultherapy is closer to gathering energy at a point at a specific depth, Thermage can be understood as delivering heat through a tip in contact with the skin, working across a broad surface for firmness and tightening.

What matters most with Thermage is protecting the epidermis. The layer we are aiming for is not the outermost epidermis but the dermis beneath it. Because the energy is delivered from the surface, cooling runs alongside it so that the epidermis does not overheat.

The pain is tied to the same point. The sensory nerves that register pain sit close to the surface of the skin. If the surface heat builds strongly, or the balance between cooling and heat delivery is off, the hot, stinging sensation grows.

That does not mean the answer is to numb and cool the surface heavily and then push the energy as high as possible. Higher energy can mean a bigger response, but if it does not suit your skin, the risk of burns, redness, swelling and pain rises with it.

In other words, with Thermage just as with Ultherapy, what matters more than the device name is energy planned around your skin and responses checked during the session.

What kind of lifting is Alltite?

Alltite is introduced as a tightening device based on DLTD technology. DLTD stands for Dermis Layer Target Dielectric Heating System — in plain terms, a system that targets dielectric heating at the dermal layer.

The point of Alltite is that it is designed to deliver heat with the dermis and the deeper elastic structure in mind, while reducing unnecessary heat load at the surface of the skin.

Ultherapy is closer to concentrating ultrasound energy at a point to create an instantaneous thermal response; Thermage is closer to heating the skin layers broadly with RF energy. Rather than simply blending the two, Alltite is better understood as a different approach to tightening — dermis-focused heat delivery combined with cooling at the epidermis.

How it feels during treatment varies from person to person, but many describe warmth and coolness together rather than a strong stabbing pain. That is because cooling runs alongside to protect the epidermal layer.

Of course, no one can claim there is "no pain at all". If your skin is thin or sensitive, if you react strongly to heat in certain areas, or if you have a history of previous treatments, you may still feel discomfort. But for anyone who found Ultherapy or Thermage hard to sit through, it is an option worth discussing.

Why Alltite is designed to reduce the pain load

In lifting treatments, pain tends to grow in two situations.

First, when energy concentrates at one point in an instant. That is what the sharp sensation in Ultherapy-type treatments relates to.

Second, when heat builds strongly at the surface of the skin. That is what the hot sensation in Thermage-type treatments relates to.

Alltite is designed to deliver heat aimed at the dermis while applying cooling at the epidermis to lower the load at the surface. That is why some people describe it as "warm underneath but cool on top".

This difference matters if you are sensitive to pain. To expect a lifting response, the necessary thermal reaction has to happen inside the skin — but if unnecessary stimulation builds at the surface or where pain is registered, the experience itself becomes hard to sit through.

At CELITA Clinic, rather than describing Alltite simply as "lifting that doesn't hurt", we check your skin thickness and pain sensitivity, how much change you are hoping for, and your recovery schedule before explaining a plan.

How do Ultherapy, Thermage and Alltite differ?

All three come up often in lifting and tightening consultations, but they look at different layers with different aims.

Ultherapy is lifting centred on deeper sagging and the supporting structure. It is worth discussing when the jawline is losing definition, the cheeks are dropping, and the direction of lift in the deeper layers matters.

Thermage is tightening centred on the skin's own firmness, fine lines, density and looseness. It can be considered when the skin has thinned and lost firmness, leaving the face looking slack.

Alltite is a device to discuss if you are hoping for dermis-focused tightening and a natural, well-fitted look. If your face needs strong deep lifting, Ultherapy may suit you better; if you need broad firmness care across the skin, Thermage may suit you better. Conversely, if pain, concern about hollow cheeks and a natural improvement in firmness all matter to you, Alltite can be a good option.

In summary:

  • Ultherapy: lifting that considers deep sagging, a collapsing jawline and the supporting structure

  • Thermage: tightening that considers skin firmness, texture, fine lines and density

  • Alltite: tightening that considers dermal firmness and a natural fit while keeping the pain load down

The point is not to declare one device better than another. It is more important to work out first whether your main issue is sagging, loss of firmness, the weight of fat, or the risk of hollowing.

Who might consider an Alltite consultation

An Alltite lifting consultation may be worth considering if any of the following apply.

  • You want lifting, but found Ultherapy too painful

  • You are worried about the heat of Thermage

  • Your skin is thin or sensitive and strong stimulation is difficult

  • Your face has lost firmness overall and looks loose

  • Your jawline is losing definition, but you do not want aggressive lifting

  • You are worried about hollow cheeks and hesitant about treatments that reduce the fat layer significantly

  • Your schedule is busy and you prefer care with less swelling and downtime

  • This is your first lifting treatment and you are unsure which device to choose

  • You are looking for a lifting clinic in Busan

If, however, deep sagging is pronounced, there is significant fat under the chin, or the degree of sagging would call for surgical correction, Alltite alone may not deliver the change you are hoping for. In those cases, Ultherapy, Onda, injectable treatments, skin boosters or a combination of lifting treatments can be reviewed together.

Treatments that can be considered alongside Alltite

Rather than solving every facial concern with a single device, it is more useful to separate out what is actually lacking in your face right now.

Alltite can be looked at mainly for firmness and tightening, but if volume is lacking or the skin's own regenerative capacity has declined, other treatments can be considered alongside it.

Juvelook Volume

Juvelook Volume can be discussed as a treatment aimed at restoring volume by encouraging collagen production. A face can look like it is sagging not only because tissue has dropped, but because volume is lacking in areas such as the cheeks, temples or anterior cheek, which makes it look more hollow.

In that case, Alltite can address skin firmness and fit while Juvelook Volume addresses hollowing and volume balance. Volume treatments do require careful decisions about which areas and how much, and we do not recommend the same approach to everyone.

GOURI (PCL)

GOURI is a collagen-booster treatment using PCL, and can be discussed when loss of firmness across the whole face and skin density are both being considered.

If your skin has thinned and lost firmness so the face looks generally slack, lifting that simply pulls may not be satisfying on its own. Reviewing Alltite together with a collagen-booster treatment allows a more three-dimensional plan for firmness.

Whether to combine them and how far apart to schedule depends on skin condition, treatment history, how you react in terms of swelling, budget and recovery schedule. CELITA Clinic suggests combinations only where they are needed.

How CELITA Clinic plans Alltite

Rather than applying Alltite as a fixed package, we look at which areas need attention and at what intensity, based on the skin assessment done before treatment.

Step 01. 1:1 consultation

We check which areas of sagging bother you, how sensitive you are to pain, your previous lifting experience, how much change you want, and whether you have any important dates coming up.

Step 02. Eve V MUSE AI skin check

Before treatment we check your skin with Eve V MUSE AI, and explain a lifting and tightening plan according to the reading of those measurements and whether treatment is indicated.

Step 03. Face type and hollowing risk

We identify whether yours is a thin-skinned face, a face with sufficient fat volume, a face with a heavy lower third, or a face at risk of hollow cheeks. Even with the same Alltite, the focus areas and how the energy is used can differ by face type.

Step 04. Shot count and energy plan by area

With Alltite, distributing shots appropriately across the areas that need them matters more than simply delivering a high number. We plan separately for the jawline, lower face, around the cheeks, and around the nasolabial and marionette lines.

Step 05. Aftercare guidance

Temporary warmth, redness, swelling, tenderness and dryness can occur after treatment, so we explain individual responses and precautions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is Alltite the same as Ultherapy?

They can be discussed in the same lifting category, but the principles differ. Ultherapy uses high-intensity focused ultrasound to create a thermal response at a set depth, while Alltite is described as a tightening device based on DLTD that combines dermis-targeted heat delivery with cooling.

Q. Is Alltite an RF treatment like Thermage?

Both Thermage and Alltite come up in firmness and tightening consultations, but the way energy is delivered and how it feels can differ. Thermage is a well-known tightening treatment using RF thermal energy, while Alltite is introduced as an approach emphasising dermis-targeted heat delivery with epidermal cooling.

Q. Is Alltite really painless?

No one can say there is no pain at all. But for people who found the momentary sharpness of Ultherapy or the surface heat of Thermage difficult, it can feel relatively comfortable. What you actually feel varies with skin thickness, sensitivity and the area treated.

Q. What kind of face does Alltite suit?

People whose skin has lost firmness and whose face looks loose, people who prefer natural tightening over aggressive lifting, and people worried about hollow cheeks or pain may consider a consultation. If there is significant fat volume or pronounced deep sagging, a combination with other lifting treatments may suit better.

Q. Can Alltite alone define the jawline?

If the jawline has blurred because of lost skin firmness, Alltite may help. But if there is also fat under the chin, structural issues below the jaw, or deep sagging, other approaches such as Onda, Ultherapy or injectable treatments may need to be reviewed alongside it.

Q. Can Alltite be combined with Juvelook Volume?

They can be considered together where needed. Alltite addresses firmness and tightening; Juvelook Volume addresses hollowing and volume balance. Whether to combine them and in what order depends on your individual condition.

Q. What is the difference between Alltite and GOURI (PCL)?

Alltite is a tightening treatment that delivers thermal energy through a device; GOURI (PCL) is an injectable collagen-booster treatment. If loss of firmness has several causes, both can be reviewed, but not everyone needs the combination.

Q. Can I return to daily life straight after treatment?

In most cases the burden on daily life is described as small, but redness, warmth, swelling and tenderness can occur depending on the individual. If you have an important shoot, trip or event coming up, it is best to mention it during the consultation.

Q. Can international patients have an Alltite consultation?

Yes. CELITA Clinic is in Seomyeon, Busan, and coordinators who can assist in Japanese, Traditional Chinese and English are on site during clinic hours. International patients who find us from abroad can also have a consultation.
