At CELITA CLINIC in Busan, EVE V MUSE and SONO FINDER are used to analyze skin condition from multiple perspectives before lifting treatments.

Multispectral optical scanning and noninvasive ultrasound collect data from the skin’s surface and underlying structures. AI algorithms analyze this data to assess individual skin characteristics more objectively and help develop a personalized lifting plan.

  • EVE V MUSE: Precise 3D facial modeling from multiple angles without blind spots, together with AI skin assessment
  • SONO FINDER: A portable, high-resolution ultrasound probe

EVE V MUSE

EVE V MUSE is a next-generation panoramic skin assessment system that combines 5 high-resolution HD cameras, advanced 3D modeling and 5 specialized light sources to create precise 3D facial topography without blind spots and analyze the skin from multiple angles using AI. Moving beyond conventional single-view imaging, it measures the entire face with millimeter (mm) precision to scientifically visualize structural concerns and underlying skin condition.

Key functions and features

Precise 3D facial scanning without blind spots

  • 5 HD cameras and structured light: The entire face, including the front and both sides, is captured simultaneously to minimize blind spots.
  • Millimeter (mm) precision: Up to 460,000 facial points are measured to visualize contours, asymmetry, hollowing and sagging areas, including midface volume, deep cheek fullness and the jawline, as detailed contour maps.

Detailed assessment beneath the skin’s surface using multiple light sources

  • The system uses 5 specialized light sources, including white light (RGB), UV, polarized light (cross/parallel) and Wood’s light.
  • It tracks details ranging from surface pores, fine lines and texture that are difficult to see with the naked eye to underlying pigmentation, redness and oil distribution.

AI analysis based on big data and future projections

  • AI algorithms trained on millions of clinical records rapidly analyze 34 skin parameters and 12 aging indicators within 1–2 minutes.
  • Simulations of future wrinkles and aging based on current elasticity help support preventive care.

Incorporating the Baumann skin type system

  • Using 8 key dimensions, including oil and moisture, sensitivity, pigmentation and elasticity (wrinkles), the system classifies the patient’s skin into 16 “skin MBTI” types and provides an easy-to-understand report.

Objective comparisons before and after treatment

  • Imaging data is matched using the same precise criteria to accurately demonstrate, in numbers, changes in volume and improvements in skin following lifting, filler or laser treatments.

SONO-Finder

SONO-Finder is a portable, high-resolution wireless ultrasound scanner designed to optimize aesthetic skin treatments, developed by N-Finders Co., Ltd., a company specializing in medical aesthetics.

Key features and specifications

  • Clear, high-resolution imaging: Equipped with a high-frequency linear probe operating at 10–14 MHz, ideally suited to superficial skin assessment, the device clearly distinguishes the boundaries between skin layers.

Main clinical applications

  • Precise guidance for aesthetic procedures: During procedures such as filler injections, botulinum toxin injections and thread lifting, real-time imaging shows anatomical structures and the exact target skin layer. This helps improve treatment precision and reduce the risk of unnecessary tissue damage and side effects.
  • Comparative assessment before and after treatment: The device checks conditions before and after implant placement, examines filler spread and possible side effects such as delayed nodules, and provides information for patient charting and explanations of the patient’s condition.

Key areas assessed through AI skin analysis

  • Collagen density and distribution within the skin: Numerical data shows the extent of collagen deficiency in the dermis and whether its structure has become looser.
  • Skin thickness and dermal density: Skin thickness and underlying condition are assessed to support accurate and effective delivery of ultrasound or radiofrequency energy, such as Ultherapy or Thermage.
  • Wrinkles and volume: The depth of wrinkles and degree of volume loss are analyzed by area, including under-eye wrinkles, nasolabial folds and the contours of the cheek apples.
  • Surface texture and pores: Pore size, skin texture and the degree of reduced surface elasticity are assessed.
  • Overall facial balance and sagging (3D external assessment): 3D modeling images visualize facial asymmetry, the direction of sagging and target areas requiring improvement.
  • Moisture and oil loss: The skin’s basic moisture–oil balance is checked to guide accompanying skincare during lifting treatments.

1. The AI skin assessment process

AI skin assessment uses imaging and automated analysis to check current skin condition. The results are used to plan care and compare subsequent changes. Imaging and analysis in approximately 1–2 minutes provide a quick overview of skin condition.

Step 1: Facial imaging with multiple light sources

After the face is positioned in the device, the front and both sides are photographed at consistent distances and angles. Special lighting, including normal light, polarized light and ultraviolet (UV) light, is used in turn. High-resolution 3D images provide precise measurements from the skin surface to deeper areas.

Step 2: AI computer vision analysis (alignment and extraction)

Once the high-resolution images are sent to the AI software, it automatically locates the eyes, nose and mouth, divides the face into regions and compares the images with a database of millions of accumulated records. It automatically analyzes more than 10 skin indicators, including skin type, pigmentation, wrinkles and pores.

Using the properties of each light source, it calculates pore depth, wrinkle contours, hidden melanin pigmentation, redness (blood vessel distribution) and sebum levels through mathematical patterns.

Step 3: Comprehensive report and review of results

Once analysis is complete, usually taking 30 seconds to 1 minute, the current skin condition appears on screen as scores or grades for each parameter, or values compared with the average for the same age group. The results make skin condition easy to understand and may also show projections of future aging or virtual simulations after treatment.

Step 4: Cross-checking and personalized care planning

This is the most important stage in creating a personalized care plan. Based on objective numerical data generated by AI, the actual skin is visually checked again. Medical history and lifestyle are considered alongside the final assessment results to develop a personalized treatment plan.

Step 5: Saving results and comparing before and after treatment

Assessment results are saved automatically so they can be compared with previous records at follow-up visits. Data from before and after treatment is tracked to see how the skin has changed.

2. Skin concerns identified by each light source

Light source Main analysis areas Principle and role
Normal light (Normal) Wrinkles, pores, texture and contours This is most similar to what the naked eye sees and identifies surface irregularities and roughness.
Polarized light (Polarized) Redness, acne marks and blood vessels By removing light reflected from the skin surface, it clearly reveals redness and blood vessel condition beneath the surface.
Ultraviolet light (UV) Future pigmentation and sebum (porphyrins) Fluorescence reveals hidden melanin pigmentation, such as melasma and dark spots, deep within the skin and the distribution of sebum produced by acne bacteria.
